Home Design Mixing Old with New

Wabi Sabi Embossed Table

I’m a treasure hunter looking for the unique, the unusual, the weathered, used, recycled, those that are handcrafted with skill and love that tell a story. I get excited being able to scout for the latest and greatest trends in home furnishings and decorative accessories from around the world. It’s not an easy task walking through the beautiful showrooms and seeing all the beautiful textiles and browsing through colorful home décor, settings and staying up to date on the latest trends in interior decorating. Here are my top design predictions for 2017:

Vintage Décor -.  this truly has taken over. Vintage décor is about filling your home with character and charm. Seeing beauty in frayed edges, worn out, faded with beautiful imperfections (truly #wabisabi).

Neutrals – beautiful monochromatic living can be quite serene and peaceful if properly accessorized. See big trends in natural fabrics, soft beiges, off whites, lighter woods for an overall lighter, airier, less stuffy look to interiors. The elements are warm and inviting. #wabisabi

Textures – mixing and matching textiles can create a display without looking to chaotic.

Antiques – definitely a rising trend for all things antiques. There is a desire to fill our homes with unique pieces that tell a story. There is nothing better than something timeless as antiques.

Whether it be modern or antique, layering the old with the new will never go out of style. Wabi Sabi Home and Design Studio is a concept store created by mixing old with new, vintage, and antique designs that will bring inspiration to your home. Things that make you smile and possibly day-dream of days gone by and to create new memories.
