Kitchen Renovation

This confined and outdated kitchen is converted into a character filled space for this active family of four. To see its potential for expansion,

we gutted out the existing kitchen, knocked down the wall and opened up the space and we were able to design a new open-concept, functional kitchen. Once the space opened up it became flooded with natural light from end to end.

The homeowners used to run downstairs to storage room for large appliances or food. By adding additional wall cabinets, 2 pull out pantry units, pull out pots and pans drawers and a large island, it now allows everything to be at their fingertips, offers ample storage the homeowner didn’t have before and avoids clutter on the countertops.

One of the focal points in this kitchen are the copper lights over the island and dining table. They add not only charm but also a pop of bling. The island pendant cage lights allow the sightlines to be kept clear. For additional light 8 pot lights were installed to replace the track lighting.

In addition to the kitchen renovation the existing railing was replaced. Gone is the honey colored 70’s spindles and railing and replaced with this sleek modern rustic look. Walls were repainted with Benjamin Moore Overcoat and Threshold Gray.   The existing linoleum and hardwood floors were replaced with new rustic hardwood floor throughout.

The large island with durable Caesarstone countertop performs a multi functional role for eating, food prep, sink, waste disposal, microwave and wine rack with lots of storage underneath.

In order for the kitchen to meet the family’s needs, high-end appliances were a necessity, especially for Rob, who is considered the chef of the family. In addition to more extra space this new kitchen truly represents this family’s lifestyle and 2 growing boys.

When I asked the Rob & Jacki what they would change? Their response was “Nothing. We got everything we asked for”.
